Morgan Duzoglou, a life and mindset coach with deep Key Biscayne roots, will lead a talk on communication in families and partnerships Thursday, Oct. 29, at the Key Biscayne Community Center.

The event, called "The Art of Communication," starts at 6:30 p.m. and is the latest installment in the Community Talk Series organized by Creating Connections, a Key Biscayne initiative led by Malena Assing, the Islander News reported.

Duzoglou plans to cover communication with yourself, between partners, from parent to child, between children and within the family. The evening aims to give participants practical tools they can use at home.

The event announcement describes Duzoglou as a published author, mother and fifth-degree black belt who has worked with children and families on Key Biscayne. Her coaching practice focuses on personal growth and life transitions.

Duzoglou's premise for the evening, according to the Islander News announcement, is that every relationship a person has reflects the conversation happening inside their own head. Topics will include listening to understand rather than waiting to respond, pausing before reacting and making others feel heard during disagreements.

Creating Connections, co-founded by Malena Assing, organizes Cafecitos, the Community Talk Series and other gatherings. The event announcement identifies the Key Biscayne Community Foundation as a collaborator.
