Key Biscayne's November calendar includes the 49th Annual Lighthouse Run, a charity tennis tournament and a Sunset Stretch & Core class at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. The events fall on Nov. 14 and Nov. 19.
Lighthouse Run
The 49th Annual Key Biscayne Lighthouse Run is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14, at Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. Registration costs $40 and is online only; there will be no race-day registration. The organizers list Friday, Nov. 13, as the registration deadline, but their website displays conflicting cutoff times. Visit the Lighthouse Run registration page before signing up.
The 10K starts at 7:40 a.m. and the 5K run and walk at 7:50 a.m. The course starts and finishes near the Cape Florida Lighthouse. Participants receive free park admission; the park entrance opens at 6:15 a.m. and closes at 7:15 a.m.
Packet pickup is scheduled at the Key Biscayne Community Center, 10 Village Green Way, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Nov. 11-13. Remaining packets will be available beginning at 6:15 a.m. on race day. The post-race party will include food, water, music, adult beverages and massages. The race website says net proceeds go to charities and organizations that volunteer at the event. Details: Lighthouse Run details.
Tennis tournament
The Building The Future Foundation Tennis Tournament is scheduled for noon to 3 p.m. Nov. 14, according to the Key Biscayne Chamber of Commerce calendar (Key Biscayne Chamber event calendar). Key Biscayne Magazine lists the Ocean Club Tennis Center as the venue and reports $100 player tickets and $50 volunteer tickets (Key Biscayne Magazine's November event preview). The foundation says it supports educational organizations in vulnerable communities in Colombia (foundation website).
Sunset Stretch & Core
The Friends of Cape Florida calendar lists a Sunset Stretch & Core class Thursday, Nov. 19, at Pavilion D-18 in Bill Baggs Cape Florida State Park. Published event listings conflict on the start time: Miami & Miami Beach lists 6 to 7 p.m., while the Key Biscayne Chamber calendar lists 5 to 6 p.m. Confirm the time with the organizer before going. Attendees should bring a yoga mat and water. Details: Friends of Cape Florida event calendar.
