Families looking for a free Halloween night out can head to Fuller Street in Coconut Grove on Saturday, Oct. 31, for trick-or-treating, live entertainment and a costume contest.

The Coconut Grove Business Improvement District is presenting the event, called Halloween in Coconut Grove, from 6 to 8 p.m. along Fuller Street near Main Highway in downtown Coconut Grove. Admission is free, according to the event listing on Eventbrite.

The evening opens at 6 p.m. with Halloween storytelling at Books & Books Coconut Grove. At 6:30 p.m., Fantasy Theatre Factory takes over Fuller Street with "Little Monsters Tales," a live performance running until 7:30 p.m. A costume contest follows at 7:30 p.m.

Between scheduled performances, children and families can collect candy at participating neighborhood businesses and explore the Grove Stamp Scavenger Hunt, which sends participants into local shops throughout downtown Coconut Grove.

A live DJ on Fuller Street provides music throughout the evening.

Costumes are encouraged.

The Halloween night is part of the broader Coconut Grove Harvest, a seasonal celebration that has turned Fuller Street into a pumpkin patch with fall decorations and photo spots. The pumpkin patch runs through Sunday, Nov. 1, according to the Eventbrite listing.

The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau lists the event on its calendar, and Miami New Times included it in a guide to trick-or-treating across Miami.
