The Ransom Everglades boys’ golf team opened its fall season with a runner-up finish Monday, Aug. 24, shooting 304 as a team at the Westminster Christian Invitational at Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables.
Columbus claimed the team title at 301, three strokes clear of the Raiders in the 15-team field, according to the Miami Herald. Belen Jesuit (306), Miami Country Day (307) and Fort Pierce John Carroll (310) rounded out the top five.miamiherald
Sophomore Cole Durham led Ransom Everglades individually, tying for fifth with a 74 (+3). He shared that spot with Jack Smith of Miami Country Day and Marley Caudle of Belen Jesuit. St. Thomas Aquinas’ Braden Chamberlin won the individual title with an even-par 71, edging Ryan Lavoie of Fort Pierce John Carroll in a playoff.
Durham is the reigning Miami-Dade Boys’ Golfer of the Year for classes 1A-3A. The Miami Herald honored him in January 2026 after a freshman campaign that featured an 18-hole average of 70.8 and individual titles at the Youth Fair Invitational, districts and the Maverick Invitational. Coach Dave Ragan earned Miami-Dade Coach of the Year for golf in 1A-3A the same season.
“I want to just continue to improve my game and be able to lead my team, go out there and give it my best shot,” Durham said on Jan. 27 when named Golfer of the Year.
The Raiders reached the FHSAA state tournament for a ninth consecutive season in 2025.
