Ransom Everglades sophomore Esha Nagalla shot a 32 over nine holes to lead the Raiders past Downtown Doral by one stroke at Trump National Golf Club.
The Coconut Grove school's girls golf team posted three rounds in the 30s to hold off the Doral charter school in wet conditions, according to Ransom Everglades. The match was played Wednesday.
Three rounds under 36 on a soggy course
Sophomore Nina Fischer and junior Ella Wester each shot 35 to round out the Raiders' scoring trio behind Nagalla. The school did not release team totals for either side.
Fischer wins Palm League title in playoff
The result continues a strong stretch for the program. Fischer won the Palm League Championship individual title Sept. 14 at Biltmore Golf Course in Coral Gables, shooting a 4-under-par 67. She claimed the crown on the first playoff hole against Pine Crest's Harper Kiss, who also shot 67. Nagalla finished fourth with an even-par 71, and Wester posted a 77. Pine Crest won the team title by six strokes, 288-294.
Same trio led the way in February
Nagalla, Fischer and Wester have carried the Raiders across multiple events. In a February match against Lourdes and Carrollton School of the Sacred Heart, Nagalla led with a 2-under-par 34, Fischer shot 36 and Wester carded 37.
Ransom Everglades has not announced its next match date.
