MAST Academy's girls golf program claimed the top two team spots at the Greater Miami Athletic Conference Invitational, according to the school's athletics website.

Francesca Black finished second overall in the individual competition, while teammate Addison Foslid placed third. Both earned medals for their performances.

The Makos entered two girls teams in the tournament, along with a boys team representing the Virginia Key magnet school, which serves students from Key Biscayne and surrounding communities.

Strong showing follows Youth Fair tournament

The GMAC finish followed an earlier appearance at the Youth Fair golf tournament, where MAST's girls placed 11th with a team score of 391.

Ransom Everglades won the girls team title at that event with a score of 282, while MAST's boys finished sixth with a 309, according to results published by the Miami Herald.

Although the tournaments featured different fields of competitors, the GMAC results gave MAST two team finishes among the top spots and two individual medalists.

Makos continue under coach Noemi Soto

Girls golf coach Noemi Soto leads MAST's program, which competes against other Miami-Dade County schools.

The school highlighted Black and Foslid's medal-winning performances in its athletics announcement, recognizing their contributions to the team's showing at the conference invitational.

MAST Academy maintains golf team information and updates on its official athletics website.
